How can I get XM or Sirius satellite radio using my car exsiting AM/FM antenna?

October 30th, 2009 | by admin |

I want to install XM in my car and be able to control it with the exsiting stereo (My monsoon stereo system is XM ready). My question is this: How do I do this using the exsiting AM/FM antenna, I want this to be completely seemsless and do not want to have to add another antenna. What products do I need? Is the install guides out there?

You can’t use your existing antenna. You must use an XM antenna, which is about the size of an Oreo cookie. They recommend that you stick it on the outside of the car (it is magnetic), but you can also have it inside the car in the front or back window. It won’t be as reliable that way, but will work most of the time.

If your radio is xm ready then you shouldn.t need an extra antenna.
