portable ‘xm radio’?
October 31st, 2009 | by admin |xm capable & portable?
totally brainless w/satellite & ipod/mp3 stuff. here goes -LOOKING FOR:
basically something like an ‘ipod’ or ‘walkman’ capable o receiving live feed of XM for easy portable use w/earphones. something able to clip to a belt or fit inside jacket pocket w/out requiring some bizarre antenna or other bulky equipment to protrude out of goodness knows where.
**main reason** bday gift for so my man can listen to a certain ‘talkshow’ usually on AM radio, but also plays on an XM channel while he is working (work = superintendent for commercial/residential construction… lot’s o ‘outdoors’ stuff)
.
-don’t *need* mp3 player/storage, but wouldn’t mind it. it’d definitely be a plus!

-doesn’t need to be loaded w/all the bells & whistles
-would be SUPER if able to be used in the car as well (via adaptor or something, w/o altering car stereo)
willing to buy one o those tiny ‘XM tuners’ that plug’n'play in compatible products (whichever those may be)
**I NEED HELP** help?
The problem you’re going to have is XM is not truly portable.
Since it is satellite fed, you must have an antenna that portrudes out of goodness knows where. I have an XM boombox but efforts to use it in motels and other locations
were generally unsuccessful.
