    The biggest reason …
The biggest reason this movie sucked was that they didn’t even have someone have to figure out what was going on, one of the elders just tells them.

    this movie seemed …
this movie seemed like a rip off of a Haddix book i actually enjoy. same concept; over 200 years ago turned out to be present day, somethin to do w/ social problems, etc.

    instead we’re left …
instead we’re left to wonder why it was so necesary to have us believe the story took place 200 years ago…it could’ve taken place in present day & not taken anything away from the original concept…why was it so important to have the characters act as if from another time & place? because he wanted the big “gotcha” at the end, nothing else…real filmmakers are more interested in telling a good story, not gimmicks, which is what all his “films” have been since 6th sense

    the reason I hated …
the reason I hated it was the twist was totally unnecessary & not organic to the rest of the story…it was just there to basically fool us, not the characters in the film…the whole isolation from the rest of society aspect had potential but it was clear m night was more interested in tricking the audience than making a coherent & believable film…in the hands of a more skilled writer/director, it could’ve been an interesting commentary on violent american society & the effects on its victims

    The beginning was …
The beginning was decent and it really gets you into it and grabs your attention….then by the end you just want to remove M. Night’s hat with a nail-riddled baseball bat.Great concept, but it the ending was poorly thought out and hastily thrown together IMO,which really detracts from the overall movie.

    Um, no Amish don’t …
Um, no Amish don’t speak like that, they speak German, and English………. not old timey English, present day English…. And I agree that it was nice to see Anthony form his own opinion instead of following along with the other two, but I hated the movie as well

    I’m in agreement …
I’m in agreement with Anthony on this one. The acting was stiff because it was supposed to sound like people in a small town in the 1800’s. Go to any amish community and they talk just like that. Good on him for forming his own opinion on the movie.
